The lively twisted wool yarn unravels easily with the needles - this yarn is a pleasure to knit!

This wonderful yarn is carded and gathered to be airy and warm. Tukuwool DK excels in embroidery, but is also suitable for surface knitting. The yarn comes into its own after the first wash, when the knitting surface is smoothed and the stitches settle. The color chart has deep, strong and fresh tones broken up by gray.

Tukuwool yarns are spun and dyed in Finland from 100% Finnish sheep wool, which comes from domestic sheep farms. The farms mainly breed Finnish sheep or Finnish sheep-Texel crossbreeds.

The name DK comes from the words double knitting, which refers to the thickness of the yarn. DK is one of the most popular strengths in yarns. The yarn is suitable for sweaters, accessories and blankets. You can combine DK thick yarn with, for example, lace thick yarn to bring texture or color. If you want a really thick knit, you can also knit DK yarn double.

Ecology

Cozy Finnish sheep's wool is a model student of eco-yarns. Sheep farming is either organic or very close to it on most farms. In addition, the wool is locally produced, which means that the transport distances are short.
In terms of ecology, the most important thing about wool yarn is its long service life, which is guaranteed by the unique Finnish sheep wool. Suomenlanpaa wool is a very rare type of fiber internationally: the wool's thermal value is great and it has long, smooth, shiny fibers.

The reuse of wool takes ecology to a new world, for example, an old sweater or other garment can be taken apart from its seams, felted and cut into pieces for new use. The yarn obtained from used woolen products is ecological if anything.
